The purpose of this publication is to explore and discuss cultural change, identity and diversity through critical writing. The triennial academic journal encompasses a specific theme that relates to contemporary culture for every issue. The theme is then further reviewed through a series of essays and studies.
The purpose of this essay was to explore and compare the relation of the modern era to its philosophical counterpart through the way of images. Not particularly through pictures themselves, but rather by using examples like iconoclasms and idealistic illustrations with descriptive words. The essay questions the relevancy of todays cultural enlightenment through modern ideals versus Plato’s argument of delusional enchantments that keeps humanity enclosed rather than freed.
A system of grids and patterns shows the exploration and comparison of the relationship between the modern era to its philosophical counterpart through the way of verbal and visual images.
